At the heart of YCC is an extremely talented, responsible and energetic staff.
This exceptional group of young men and women, the directors, supervisors, Camper care team, doctors, nurses, camp mother, counselors, specialists, and the support staff, all work together to make your kids feel great and love being at camp.
Many of our staff have been at YCC since they themselves were young campers, and they are passionate about passing on their love of YCC to today’s campers
Join the YCC Staff!
Being a camp counselor is your chance to change a young person’s life and make their time at camp a memory they’ll gladly revisit.
You’ll be a role model for your campers and have a fun at the same time!
YCC STAFF COMMITMENT
The Y Country Camp is firmly committed to the concept of supervision and the development of our staff. Each counsellor is given regular guidance to help them function in the most effective way. Issues such as: “How varied is your bunk’s program?”, “Are your campers getting along?”, “Is each camper having a meaningful and worthwhile experience?” etc., are central supervisory concerns. The Camp Director and Leadership Team are fully trained and highly experienced. They provide essential leadership to the supervisors and counsellors. YCC staff are hired to nurture our campers, act as role models, and ultimately provide the best camper experience possible. They are the reason our campers have such an incredible time at camp

I am most looking forward to reconnecting with everyone at the camp, campers and staff, and to work on senior side for the first time this year in Ridgeview!
My favourite memory from last summer was taking the boys on a sunrise canoe across Lac Miré and seeing the amazing colours over camp to start the day.

I am most looking forward to establishing new connections and creating unforgettable memories with my campers and staff next summer. I can’t wait to do Shake ’n Bake at GS, go canoeing, roast marshmallows and sing songs by the bonfire. One of my favourite memories as a camper in RockyPoint Girls is doing the Cha Cha Slide in the talent show with my bunk. My goal as a supervisor is to instill an appreciation and love for camp in all my campers, for YCC is my home away from home!

I am so excited to be coming back this summer as supervisor of Sumada! I am really looking forward to connecting with all the campers and staff, and being there to support them, just like the Sumada sisterhood does.
My favourite memory from my time in Sumada was singing ‘Friends’ every night after evening program because I felt apart of this amazing, strong and fun group of girls. This is something that I can’t wait for my own campers to experience.

I am looking forward to returning to Hillside this summer. I can't wait to meet all the new and returning campers and staff in my unit. I am excited for the brotherhood and community we will create this summer as well as all the fun new activities we have planned for our campers.
One of my favourite memories from my Hillside summers is when my campers surprised me by performing some of my favourite movie scenes.

This summer I’m looking forward to reconnecting with all of you, and meeting all of the new campers and staff! I hope to set a great example for the Hood campers, encouraging them to develop into strong, confident leaders in their respective communities and friend groups, while creating unforgettable memories.
Looking back at Summer 2023, some of my favourite memories came from the late night talks with the boys in the unit, where staff and campers were given the chance to relax and share unlimited amounts of laughs and stories together!

I'm incredibly excited to be returning to YCC next summer as the leader of the beach team! I can’t wait to see everyone enjoying themselves outdoors, whether it's on the blob, iceberg or water trampoline.
One of my fondest memories revolves around the endless games we played on the beach last summer. I am super excited to see what next year’s general swims will bring.

I am looking forward to returning to YCC for my third summer on H&T. One of my favourite moments from Summer 2023 was successfully finishing a hiking or canoe trip with a group. These trips are so challenging but nothing beats that feeling when we all make it home after stepping out of our comfort zone for a few days. All the campers and staff feel incredibly proud of themselves (and I'm proud of everyone!) and feel more connected as a group. I can’t wait to lead our campers on more trips this summer.

I'm most looking forward to seeing all the returning kids and staff, getting back to the boats (Shakira and Andre). But most excited to relive the special moments at camp that make YCC MY-CC!
My favourite memory from last summer was building a camp fire with the Sumada girls and roasting marshmallows.

I am so excited to be coming back for my 13th summer as a Unit Supervisor on Junior Side! I can’t wait to meet all my campers and staff and create so many amazing memories together, from new and exciting day programs to evening activities!
My favourite memory from YCC was when I was a Hillside camper and we dressed up and did lip sync battles for our staff!

I am so excited to come back for my third summer on Senior Side! As a supervisor, I am most looking forward to getting to know all the campers and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
My favourite memory from my time as counsellor at YCC was when we were all in the rec hall doing an evening program which turned into a spontaneous dance party. It was something small but so much fun because we were all together having a good time.
