Meet the team

Marni Schlomowitz

Director

Marni has dedicated over 30 years to working with children as an educator and camp professional. She holds degrees in Kindergarten and Elementary Education from McGill University and Child Studies from Concordia University, and has been teaching elementary students in Montreal since 2002.

A former camper and counsellor herself, Marni spent 15 years as a Camp Coordinator before joining YCC. She is passionate about creating a camp experience that puts campers first and is committed to ensuring every child has a safe, supportive, and unforgettable summer.

Marni and her husband, Jesse, have two children, Morgan and Oliver, and are proud to call YCC their summer home.

Gab Dadoun

Assistant Director

Gab has spent much of his life at Y Country Camp, a place he proudly calls his home away from home. Starting as a camper, he worked his way up through staff roles, eventually serving as a Supervisor and Program Director of the CIT Village, where he focused on leadership, mentorship, and creating meaningful experiences for campers and staff alike.

Outside of camp, Gab works as a social worker supporting youth and families, and has been actively involved with BBYO in leadership roles. His professional experience has deepened his commitment to building environments where young people feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow.

This will be Gab’s 11th summer at YCC and he is honoured to continue giving back to the community that shaped him.

Katie Goldstein

Assistant Director

Katie has been working in the field of education for the past 7 years. Currently, a teacher at Vanguard School, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kindergarten Elementary, and a Master’s of Education, in Inclusive Education from McGill University. She has worked in many schools, and has taught English and Math in different grade levels. Katie has been involved with the community, and has volunteered as an Advisor for BBYO. She also led trips to England and Israel through BBYO’s summer travel program. Through these work experiences, Katie truly has gained valuable leadership skills.

Katie has grown up at YCC, it is truly her home away from home. The second she drives through those gates, there’s a sense of comfort and love she feels that has been fostered since she started as a Hillside camper. She held many roles at YCC including Village Supervisor and Coordinator, and Program Director of both Jr. and Sr. Side. Katie has experience with creative programming, staff training and leadership development that she is excited and ready to share with the YCC team. This will be Katie’s 18th summer at camp, and she could not be more thrilled in this new role.

Erin Godfrey

Office Manager

Erin has worked at the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA for over 25 years in a variety of roles, including IT Manager and Social Media Marketing Manager, and has been part of YCC since 2019.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University (Major in Management Information Systems, Minor in Marketing) and brings extensive knowledge of systems, YCC, and the history of the Y.

Erin and her husband Rick are proud members of the YCC family — their daughter Samantha is a former camper turned staff, and their son Brady is a current camper. You can often find Erin in a Zumba class at the Y!
