Happy Purim Everyone!
It’s getting busy around our office with summer 2013 only 4 months away – the summer 2012 yearbook is being worked on and should be ready by mid-April, we have finalized our Supervisor team and hired most of our staff; enrollment has been going well with new campers joining us for the first time; and we are planning our 1st ever Oneg Shabbat for all YCC families (more details to follow).
During the weekend of March 22nd, Sid and I will be spending a couple of days at YCC with all of our Program Directors and Supervisors at our annual “Supervisor Shabbaton”. It’s a productive weekend filled with creative programs, leadership sessions and some great bonding, including a night-time walk to the Jr Beach to have a bonfire, with marshmallows, hot chocolate and fireworks!
For most of our Supervisors, seeing YCC covered in the white snow and the lake frozen over is the highlight of their weekend.
Included in our leadership training for staff, are innovative strategies which emphasize the ongoing supervision of all of our campers. This includes the introduction of a short “Camper Questionnaire” which all campers will fill out during the first week of camp, giving us some immediate feedback about programs, friendships, and counsellors.
We are always open to suggestions on ways to improve YCC and for your child to have the best summer possible. Please feel free to contact me at any time by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org or sending me a Facebook message. I can also be reached at the YCC office at 514-737-6551 ext.516
